The Bird in Your Heart
Share
Deep in the hidden brush of your heart
There’s a bird who’s lost its song
You’ve been looking for it all your life
But it’s been there all along
This tiny bird has been hidden away
Protected in the branches
Early in your life someone clipped its wings
And gave no second chances
And so it stayed, nestled away
Hoping for you to find it
To hear its little warble
And come and unbind it
You’ve walked past it a time or two
But you couldn’t quite hear it
But if you double back and give it another shot
You might almost be near it
Tune out the world
And listen closely for your heart
Because setting that bird free
Is only the start
