Afternoon Snack

Sound the ravens to mimic the geese
And throw the hawk off track
Save the bunny in the brush
From becoming an afternoon snack

Just this once
Don’t make him lunch
Let him cry
One last time
And spare him the sucker punch

Let him finish the amphibious symphony
That echoes from across the bog
Send him off a happy hare
